Josefina Kountouri participates as a Research Associate and is a member of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, led by Professor Diofantos Hadjimitsis at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics, at Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). She received her degree in Rural and Surveying Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2018. She continued her studies in the department of architectural engineering at in Interdepartmental Program of Postgraduate Studies “Protection Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Monuments” Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where she obtained her MSc in Protection, Preservation and Restoration of Architectural Monuments in 2020. Josefina Kountouri is a PhD Candidate at Cyprus University of Technology. Josefina’s research focuses on flood monitoring using earth observation and GIS techniques. Her scientific interest has expanded in the field of education, so since April 2021, she has been working on various actions under the Fpcup (Framework Partnership Agreement on Copernicus User Uptake) program. The aim of the project is to promote Copernicus services in different areas, such us education and public.
