Biography

Demetris Christofi was born in 1984 in Paphos, where he resides and works to this day. He graduated in 2008 from the Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE) in Athens. He then chose to study Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), graduating in 2011 with a BEng Civil Engineer degree. In 2012, he pursued postgraduate studies at the same university, obtaining an MSc in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Design. From 2011 until today, he has served as Project Manager in construction companies, focusing on the execution of Urban and Technical projects of public interest. He has maintained a Technical Office since 2012, providing Civil Engineering services emphasizing structural engineering. Additionally, he has been actively involved in the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers since 2013, serving as Secretary of the Paphos District Council (2013-2015) and subsequently as President of the Paphos District Council (2015-2017, 2017-2019, 2019-2022). He is also an elected member of the General Council of ETEK for the terms (2020-2023) 2023-2026. Concurrently, he works at the Eratosthenes Excellence Center and is a doctoral student focused on Coastal Erosion with the usage of Remote Sensing at the Cyprus University of Technology. He is married and a father of three children.
