Biography

ORCID: 0000-0002-0715-9511

Dr Marinos Eliades received his BSc degree in Geology (2008) and his MSc degree in ecological quality and water management at a river basin level (2010), from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). He obtained his PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences from The Cyprus Institute (CyI), in 2018. After receiving his PhD, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in hydrology at CyI, until July 2022. Marinos joined the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence (ECoE) team as a researcher in the Environment and Climate Department in August 2022. His main research interests are on monitoring environmental, agrometeorological and ecohydrological processes, in forested and agricultural areas. Through his research activities, he gained expertise in field sensor configuration and installation (meteorological stations, soil moisture, soil water potential and sap flow sensors), in in-situ measurements (porometer, pressure chamber, plant canopy analysis systems and stream flow measurements), in laboratory analysis (soil texture, soil bulk density) and in remote sensing applications. He has experience in national and European funded projects (FP7, H2020, PRIMA, ESA-PECS, RIF) and authored several papers published in peer-review international journals, related to agrometeorological and ecohydrological research. Marinos is leading the water cluster of ECoE.
