Dr Marinos Eliades research interest is on monitoring environmental, hydrological and land processes, mainly in forested and agricultural areas. He received his BSc degree in Geology (2008) and his MSc degree in ecological quality and water management at a river basin level (2010) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). He obtained his PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences from The Cyprus Institute, in 2018. He worked as a research assistant in Hydrology at the Energy, Environment and Water Research Centre (EEWRC) of The Cyprus Institute, from 2012 to 2018. After receiving his PhD, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Hydrology at EEWRC, until July 2022. Through his research activities, he gained expertise in field sensor configuration and installation (meteorological stations, soil moisture, soil water potential and sap flow sensors), in in-situ measurements (porometer, pressure chamber, plant canopy analysis systems and stream flow measurements) and in laboratory analysis (soil texture, soil bulk density). He has experience in European funded projects (FP7, H2020, PRIMA) related to Climate change, forest, water, and soil research. Marinos joined the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence team as the head in land cluster in August 2022. Marinos has authored and co-authored 15 papers published in peer-review international journals.
