Dr. Muhammad Amjad Iqbal is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence within the Resilient Society Department for Marine Safety and Security. His work focuses on enhancing SAR-based maritime surveillance through advanced SAR data processing and image analysis techniques. He holds a B.S. in Electrical (Telecommunication) Engineering from GCUF, Pakistan, an M.S. in Communication and Information System Engineering from NJUST, China, and a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, and Information Technology from NUST Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania. Dr. Iqbal has been a visiting researcher at institutions across Europe, including UPNA (Spain), Fraunhofer (Germany), the University of Siegen (Germany), and the University of Parthenope (Italy). His research expertise encompasses remote sensing, SAR/ISAR systems, polarimetry, CFAR-based target detection, ocean Doppler estimation, and high-resolution imaging using sparse data. His interests extend to mm-wave radar imaging, feature extraction from backscattering, and innovative approaches for inverse SAR imaging using compressive sensing.
