Biography

Dr. Andreas Christofi (male) worked as Senior Researcher B at the Cyprus University of Technology, and he is currently working as Facilities, Building Infrastructure & Procurement Officer at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence. He has participated in over 20 National and European research projects, and his main research interests are improving the structural integrity of reinforced concrete structures. His PhD thesis focused on the Non-destructive Evaluation of Corrosion in Reinforced Concrete using Field Spectroscopy and Remote Sensing technics, and he specializes in Remote Sensing health monitoring technics for large concrete infrastructures. The last years he has been concentrated on drafting and filing his first patent application at the UK Intellectual Property Office “SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONCRETE INSPECTION” (Application No.: GB2310993.7). Dr. Andreas Christofi has many publications in scientific journals and many oral/poster presentations at international conferences. In addition, Dr. Andreas Christofi has great experience in managerial positions in the construction industry. He was employed (1997 –2008) as chief civil engineer in the field of design, production, and quality control of ready-mix concrete (Athinodorou Super Beton Ltd). He is a licensed contractor from the Council for the Registration and Control of Contractors in Cyprus since 2008 and he was the owner and the general manager of R & A Constructions Ltd until 2014. He is also an active member of the Technical Chamber of Engineers in Cyprus (ETEK).
