MICROS II (ESA-PECS): MICROS II project titled “MonItoring CypRus ecOnomy by Space ΙΙ” is a continuation of MICROS project (MonItoring CypRus ecOnomy by Space, ESA Contract No. 4000136060/21/NL/SC), which was a feasibility study regarding the correlation analysis between economic statistical data and data derived from EO processing methodologies for the region of Cyprus, and the exploration of the possibility of developing an autonomous platform for the extraction of real-economy indicators and trends using EO data and assets. MICROS II aims to improve upon the MICROS feasibility study by utilizing the extracted knowledge to enhance the image processing methodologies with Artificial Intelligence, refine the correlation analyses with wider economic statistical data and develop a prototype platform ready to be accessed by end users. MICROS II expands the idea of MICROS, by proposing a prototype platform capable of providing econometric nowcasting and forecasting data. The service will be based on diverse Copernicus and contributing data, automatic image processing using AI, statistical modelling and correlation procedures, all integrated in a codeless UI easily accessed by various user groups.
