Biography

ORCID: 0009-0007-0019-1088

Constantinos Chrysostomou is a Research Assistant A’ at the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence. He holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Cyprus (2023) and an MSc in Geoinformatics and Earth Observation from the Cyprus University of Technology (2024). His master’s thesis used Doppler lidar observations to produce detailed monthly and seasonal wind climatologies, to characterize planetary boundary layer dynamics, and to compare ground-based HLOS wind measurements with Aeolus satellite lidar retrievals. Since January 2025 he is a PhD candidate in Atmospheric Monitoring and Atmospheric Remote Sensing at the Cyprus University of Technology, where his research focuses primarily on aerosol–cloud interactions using the Dual Field-of-View (DFOV) polarization lidar technique, investigating how different aerosol types and the behaviour of the vertical wind influence cloud formation, their lifetime and their microphysical properties.
