Kyriakos Aristidou is a computer scientist specializing in data science and computer vision. He holds an MSc in Data Science from Leiden University and a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from the Cyprus University of Technology. His academic work includes significant research projects that showcase his expertise. For his bachelor’s thesis, he developed a web application for security in public places by analysing images and videos to detect rule violations, aiding decision-making for area policing. His master’s thesis, in collaboration with Main blades Inspections B.V. a company in the Netherlands specializing in aircraft drone inspection, involved proposing a novel pre-processing approach to enhance oriented object detection for aircraft inspections. In his current role, he contributes to the Border Force project, which focuses on enhancing real-time surveillance capabilities at borders. This demonstrates his consistent focus on applying computer vision and data analysis to real-world security and inspection challenges. His strong academic foundation and specialized work underline his capabilities in developing innovative solutions for complex problems in the field.
