EUDIS Defence Hackathon 2026 – Cyprus Edition

For the first time, the European Commission’s EU Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS) brought its Defence Hackathon to the island. From 15–17 October 2026, Nicosia hosted 23 teams from across Europe, alongside high-level guests and representatives of the defence industry and the technology and research communities, for three days dedicated to developing solutions for today’s operational challenges in defence.

The organisation in Cyprus was undertaken by C.D. Multimedia, in close institutional cooperation with the Cyprus Defence and Space Industry Cluster (CyDSIC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence warmly congratulates the organisers, the supporters, and all 23 participating teams on a landmark initiative — one that marks a meaningful step for defence innovation and the wider research and technology ecosystem in Cyprus.

As the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, we strongly support the growth of Cyprus’s defence innovation ecosystem, and we look forward to supporting the younger generation in turning their ideas into innovation with real impact.

Professor Andreas Anayiotos and Andreas Andreou attended the opening ceremony, held on 15 October 2026, on behalf of the ERATOSTHENES team.
