ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence strengthens space cooperation between Cyprus and India

The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence coorganised India–Cyprus Space Day 2026, held virtually on 18 May 2026, together with IN-SPACe and the High Commission of India in Cyprus.

The event brought together government representatives, space organisations, researchers and industry leaders from both countries to explore cooperation in three key areas: satellite communications, Earth Observation and geospatial technologies, and research and commercial space applications.

Senior representatives from IN-SPACe, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the High Commission of India and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry contributed to the discussions. Companies from Cyprus and India also presented their technologies and capabilities, exploring opportunities for research and business partnerships.

Through its role as coorganiser, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence helped connect the space ecosystems of the two countries, with particular emphasis on satellite data applications, Earth Observation and geospatial technologies.

The event highlighted the potential for joint research initiatives and commercial partnerships, strengthening ties between Cyprus and India within the growing global space economy.
