GreenCarbonCY (Cyprus RIF, CO-DEVELOP-GT/0322/0023): GreenCarbonCY project titled “Transitioning to Green agriculture by assessing and mitigating Carbon emissions from agricultural soils in CYprus” proposes an integrated and web-based decision support tool for soil health restoration, land management, and greenhouse gas emissions control, utilizing earth observation (EO) data and products of the Copernicus Climate Change Service innovating hydrogeological models. To reach this goal, the project will develop an integrated and participative methodology to assess and map the vulnerability of soil health to climate change and human activities in alignment with the principles of land and water management. The resulting information system will be used to bridge between scientists and stakeholders for revising and adapting land management. GreenCarbonCY will foster intercultural and multidisciplinary collaboration and transfer between countries. The developed solutions are expected to fulfill optimal land and water provisions for food security, agroeconomic systems, domestic services, and preservation of natural ecosystems in Cyprus.
