MoU between the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence and the Municipality of Paralimni-Derynia
A Memorandum of Understanding was formalized on November 13, 2024, between the ERATOSTHENESCentre of Excellence and the Municipality of Paralimni-Derynia. This MoU seeks to facilitate the sustained provision of services characterized by high accuracy and quality, thereby enhancing the broader social and public welfare.
Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding over the next five years will encompass a diverse array of activities and targeted collaborative actions. The primary objective of this undertaking is to elevate the living standards of the Municipality’s inhabitants, which will be supported by the formulation of scientific, advisory, and technical studies. These initiatives will also focus on the dual goals of environmental protection and promoting natural and urban spaces. The partnership between the two organizations incorporates osmotic processes that enable the transfer and sharing of knowledge from both entities. This collaboration will henceforth involve joint engagement in European Programs, Conferences, Seminars, and other initiatives. In light of the MoU, there will be a pronounced focus on ensuring direct, efficient, and meaningful cooperation and coordination in implementing European Regulations and legislation when required. Concurrently, there will be robust support for executing strategies and initiatives that foster research and academic pursuits.
The Mayor of Paralimni-Dheryneia, Mr. George Nicolettos, signed the Memorandum of Understanding, while the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence was represented by its Managing Director, Professor Diofantos Hadjimitsis.

Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας υπεγράφη μεταξύ του Κέντρου Αριστείας ΕΡΑΤΟΣΘΕΝΗΣ και του Δήμου Παραλιμνίου-Δερύνειας. Στόχος του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας αποτελεί η επίτευξη της διαρκούς παροχής, υψηλής ακρίβειας και ποιότητας υπηρεσιών, οι οποίες εν δυνάμει θα προάγουν το ευρύτερο κοινωνικό και δημόσιο συμφέρον.
Κατά την 5 ετή εφαρμογή του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας, το πεδίο εφαρμογής του θα εκτείνονται σε ένα πολλαπλό και πολύπλευρο φάσμα δραστηριοτήτων και κοινών – στοχευμένων δράσεων. Μεταξύ αυτών, εντοπίζεται η συνολική προσπάθεια αναβάθμισης του βιοτικού επιπέδου των πολιτών του Δήμου, διάμεσο εκπόνησης επιστημονικών, συμβουλευτικών και τεχνικών μελετών, οι οποίες θα προάγουν παράλληλα και την διάσταση προστασίας – ανάδειξης του φυσικού και δομημένου περιβάλλοντος. Οσμωτικές διαδικασίες μεταφοράς και παροχής τεχνογνωσίας εκατέρωθεν των δύο οργανισμών, αποτελούν επίσης μέρος αυτής της συνεργασίας, η οποία εφεξής θα συμπεριλαμβάνει την από κοινού συμμετοχή των δύο οργανισμών σε Ευρωπαϊκά Προγράμματα, συνέδρια, σεμινάρια και άλλες πρωτοβουλίες. Υπό το πρίσμα του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας έμφαση θα δοθεί στην άμεση, αποδοτική και ουσιαστική συνεργασία και συντονισμό των δύο οργανισμών στην εφαρμογή των Ευρωπαϊκών Κανονισμών, Νομοθεσιών όταν και όπου χρειάζεται, ενώ θα υποστηριχθεί ενεργά και η εφαρμογή τακτικών και πρωτοβουλιών οι οποίες προωθούν την έρευνα και την ακαδημαϊκή δραστηριότητα.
Το Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας υπεγράφη από τον Δήμαρχο Παραλιμνίου-Δερύνειας κύριο Γιώργο Νικολέττο, και τον Διευθύνοντα Σύμβουλο του Κέντρου Αριστείας ΕΡΑΤΟΣΘΕΝΗΣ, καθηγητή Διόφαντο Χατζημιτσή στις 13 Νοεμβρίου 2024.
