Biography

Andreas Livadiotis is an archaeologist specializing in digital archaeology with a passion for applying advanced technologies to cultural heritage research and preservation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology from the University of Cyprus and a Master’s degree in Digital Archaeology from Leiden University in the Netherlands. With extensive experience in archaeological fieldwork, database management, geophysical surveys, and digital tools, Andreas combines technical proficiency with a deep understanding of archaeological sciences. His master’s thesis introduced innovative approaches to geomagnetic data processing, reflecting his commitment to bridging traditional archaeology with cutting-edge digital methodologies.  Currently, Andreas serves as an Assistant Researcher A’ in Remote Sensing and Digital Archaeology at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence. In this role, he contributes to pioneering efforts in cultural heritage protection, particularly through the analysis, interpretation, and processing of satellite and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) imagery to identify illegal archaeological excavations and monitor archaeological sites in Cyprus and the EMMENA region, in collaboration with a diverse team of experts. Driven by curiosity and a dedication to advancing digital archaeology, Andreas aspires to further his research and lay the groundwork for a future PhD in the field.
