Dhouha Ouerfelli is a geospatial and environmental scientist specializing in remote sensing with a focus on sustainable land and ecosystem management. She holds a MSc in Geoinformation in Environmental Management from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania and an engineering degree in crop production sciences from National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia. Her work integrates applied research and innovation, emphasizing agroecology, soil carbon dynamics, and climate-resilient agriculture. Dhouha has contributed to various international research projects across Europe and North Africa, employing advanced techniques such as hyperspectral imaging and fluorescence for assessing avocado ripening, as well as remote sensing and crop growth modelling for predicting crop yields, forest fire assessment and agroecological zoning. Her previous work includes also soil carbon monitoring under erosion impacts. Additionally, she has been actively involved in multiple mangrove restoration projects, enhancing her expertise in ecosystem management. With a strong foundation in geospatial tools, she has played key roles in knowledge transfer, farmer training, and cross-sectoral collaboration. Her interdisciplinary background equips her to support innovative, data-driven solutions for sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.
