Dimitrios KOUMOULIDIS

Assistant Researcher

Biography

Dimitrios Koumoulidis holds a degree in Forestry and Management of the Natural Environment from the University of Thessaly (2000) and an MSc in Management and Protection of the Natural Environment with a specialization in GIS applications – Energy and Pollution from the Open University of Cyprus (2016). He is currently an Assistant Researcher at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence and is pursuing a PhD at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT).His research interests span Remote Sensing, Heavy Metals Pollution, Land Use–Land Cover Dynamics and COVID-19 pandemic, with several authored and co-authored publications in international journals and conferences. Professionally, he has served as Environmental Head Manager in international five-star resorts, where he oversaw sustainability and compliance initiatives. He has prepared Environmental Impact Assessments and Ecological Studies submitted to Ministries in both Greece and Cyprus. Additionally, he has four years of experience as a Scientific Coordinator at the National Forestry Departments in Greece, contributing to policy implementation and natural resource management.
