Eleni Loulli (f) is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) under the supervision of Professor Diofantos G. Hadjimitsis and a Researcher C at the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (Department of Environment & Climate). She graduated from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with a BSc and a MSc in Environmental Engineering. Her MSc Degree was focused on Water Resources Modelling and Management. Her PhD research focuses on precipitation monitoring from ground- and satellite-based radars. Her research aims to improve the understanding and interpretation of meteorological radar measurements over Cyprus. Moreover, her research interests include: Remote Sensing Applications, Sustainable Water Resources Management, Sustainable Land Use Management, and Climate Change Monitoring. Since March 2018, Eleni is actively involved in various research projects funded under Horizon 2020, INTERREG, PRIMA, Cyprus RIF and ESA-PECS. She also participates in various activities that aim at promoting Earth observation from space and the Copernicus program, such as presentations in secondary schools, science cafes and governmental departments. Lastly, Eleni is a member of the Women in Copernicus initiative, aiming to give a voice and a face to the women who work with Copernicus.
