Eleni Sfakianaki is currently working at ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence as Assistant Researcher B’ at the Environment and Climate Department. She holds an integrated master in laboratory of animal Breeding & Husbandry of Agricultural University of Athens, Greece. Her thesis was ”Transcriptome analysis in weaning and no weaning Damascus goats” which had the opportunity to learn and expand her knowledge in next generation sequencing and mainly the benefits of weaning in both animals and their products. Eleni has experience in European funded projects (Thalis, PRIMA) related to animal research, heath and well-being. The investment in her training paid off extremely well as I was able to rely on her to carry out demanding experiments such as RNA and DNA extractions from various tissues, real time PCR, ELISA, microsatellite genetic analysis and next generation RNA sequencing library preparations, with great success.
