Biography

Eleni Sfakianaki is currently working at ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence as Assistant Researcher B’ at the Environment and Climate Department. She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Animal Breeding & Husbandry from the Agricultural University of Athens, with a thesis on Transcriptome analysis in weaning and no weaning Damascus goats, where she developed expertise in next generation sequencing and investigated the impact of weaning on animal performance and product quality. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Agricultural University of Athens, conducting research on the “Study of the Transcriptome of the Ruminant Mammary Gland Under Different Animal Husbandry Practices.” She has actively contributed to European-funded projects (Thalis, PRIMA) with strong international collaboration, focusing on animal research, health, and welfare. Through these projects and her academic work, she has gained extensive laboratory experience, including RNA and DNA extractions from diverse tissues, real-time PCR, ELISA, microsatellite genetic analysis, and next generation RNA sequencing library preparation.
