Biography

ORCID: 0000-0002-9572-417X 

Dr. Ioannis Theodorou is a Project and Research Support Manager at ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, with over 15 years of experience spanning research support, EU-funded project management, policy coordination and academic research. He holds a diploma in Applied Physical Sciences from the National Technical University of Athens, and a Master of Research and PhD in nanomaterials from Imperial College London. His academic background features a productive publication track record and involvement in several externally funded projects and is highlighted by a PhD Prize in Advanced Materials Characterisation, and a Horizon 2020 MSCA Individual Fellowship. He then worked for the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) of Cyprus, serving as National Contact Point and Programme Committee Representative for Horizon Europe. During this time, he provided strategic guidance and technical support to researchers and local organizations to promote their successful participation in the Programme, whilst contributing to national representation at the EU level. Before joining ERATOSTHENES, he was responsible for setting up the R&I Support Unit of PHAETHON CoE (University of Cyprus), shaping its mission and internal organization, and designing policies, procedures and tools to streamline support throughout the whole research funding lifecycle.
