Dr. Konstantinos Roussos is a Byzantine archaeologist with a Ph.D. from Leiden University, specializing in Landscape Archaeology of the Late Antique and Byzantine periods and Cultural Heritage Management. He has extensive research experience in European and national projects in Greece and Cyprus. Between 2015 and 2022, he participated in multiple archaeological research initiatives at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies/FO.R.T.H. (Crete, Greece). From 2020 to 2022, his postdoctoral project, “Cretan Ports and Harbors from Late Antiquity to the Early Byzantine Middle Ages (4th–early 9th c. AD),” was funded by the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece. Dr. Roussos has served as a visiting lecturer in Byzantine Archaeology at the University of Crete, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Open University of Cyprus, and the University of Cyprus. Between 2021 and 2024, he was a Research Associate at the School of Law, University of Nicosia, contributing to the Horizon 2020 project “Redefining the Future of Cultural Heritage through a Disruptive Model of Sustainability.” He has organized and presented at international conferences and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Resilient Society Department of the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence, actively involved in European-funded projects (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+) focused on the safeguarding, promotion, and innovative management of cultural heritage. He is recognized for his leadership in interdisciplinary research collaborations and a strong record of academic publications.
