Communication, Events and Social Media Officer

Biography

Maria Christoforou is currently working as a Communication officer at ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence. She holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Cyprus and has a professional background in strategic communications, campaign management, and digital outreach.

She began her career at Workshop Creative Agency, where she progressed from Social Media Content Creator to Copywriter and Account Manager. In these roles, she was responsible for overseeing full communication campaigns for clients across industries such as hospitality, real estate, and shipping. Managing allocated budgets, she coordinated integrated strategies that included media placements, digital campaigns, print materials, event activations, conference presence, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Alongside her agency work, Maria has supported organisations as a freelance content writer and marketing consultant. In this capacity, she has also overseen and managed companies’ marketing plans, aligning strategy, content, and outreach initiatives with their broader objectives. She specialises in translating complex ideas into clear, engaging messaging tailored to diverse audiences.
