Biography

Roland Richard Sier (male) is a Project Manager at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence. He has over 10 years of experience managing interdisciplinary projects in sustainable agriculture, environmental sciences, and geospatial technology. He holds a Master’s degree in Horticultural Sciences from Humboldt University Berlin and BOKU Vienna, with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data-driven optimization. Before joining Eratosthenes CoE, he worked on several EU-funded projects, including Horizon Europe and H2020, specializing in grant writing, compliance, and strategic project execution. His expertise includes process optimization, stakeholder engagement, and international collaboration, having contributed to projects in Sweden, Norway, Austria, Germany, and Cyprus. At Ljusgarda, now Supernormal Greens, one of Sweden’s largest hydroponic farms, he successfully increased yield by 63% through scientific analysis, nutrient solution optimization, and workflow improvements, demonstrating his ability to translate research into practical applications.
