Spyroula GEORGIOU

Assistant Researcher

Biography

Spyroula Georgiou studied Environmental Science and Technology (first degree) at Cyprus University of Technology.  She has two master degrees, the first one is in Environmental Engineering (University of Cyprus) and the second one is in Shipping and Business Administration (Cyprus University of Technology). Also, she has been certified as a head auditor of OHSAS 18001,ISO 14001, ISO 22000 from TUV Austria Academy and she has been attended a lot of seminars about environmental issues. 

She worked to the Department of Environment (government) as an environmental inspector and in Cyprus Port Authority as Environmentalist and health and safety officer (completed waste management plan of port). In addition, she worked at Environmental Center of Akrotiri as an assistant of environmental educator and at Paradisiotis Company Ltd as an Environmentalist (completed sustainability project). She cooperated with Mekel Company and completed with success the Environmental study (ΜΕΕΠ) for a Factory at Merki Village in Nicosia. Furthermore, she teaches tutorials lessons to students at Cyprus University of Technology depending on requirements and needs of the students per semester. She is currently working in Eratosthenes research center of excellence as a researcher A’ in the field of Resilient society and at the same time she is a PhD student at University of Technology (CUT) in Limassol to the department of Civil Engineering and Geoinformatics.
