Virtual Invited talk: Developing tools for marine plastics monitoring
On November 2nd, The EXCELSIOR H2020 project, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE) and the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of the Cyprus University of Technology organized a virtual invited talk by Ms. Els Knaeps.
Els Knaeps obtained a Master’s degree in Geography and a Master’s degree in GIS and Remote Sensing. She has 10 years of experience in Remote Sensing Image processing for water quality and coastal management. Her research has mainly focused on suspended sediment and turbidity retrieval in turbid coastal waters. It has led to her collaborations with universities, research institutes, industries and international organisations.
She is a member of several international workgroups in the field of inland and coastal water quality and has coordinated several research and commercial projects. At present, Els leads a team of researchers working on biodiversity, water and coastal applications.
