Workshop with Cyprus Geological Survey Department (GSD)
ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence team members Dr. Konstantinos Panagiotou, Dr. Marinos Eliades, Dr. Athanasios Argyriou and Mrs. Eleni Loulli, along with the Hydrogeologist team of the Cyprus Geological Survey Department (GSD) (Dr. Christos Christofi, Mr. Michael Rigas, Mrs. Theodosia Irakleous), organized a workshop at the promises of the GSD in order to explore opportunities of scientific cooperation in fields of common interest. Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence team presented in detail the expertise and existing research activities within the different thematic areas of the centre. These presentations served as a basis for the following discussion that took place in order to identify areas of common interest. Furthermore, Dr. Konstantinos Panagiotou presented the general concept, objectives and expected outcomes of the Demonstration Project between Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence and Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), with title “Assessment of Vegetation Dynamics and Drivers of Drought for the Republic of Cyprus”. Both teams agreed in a series of acivities of mutual benefit that are expected to be implemented during the forthcoming months.
