135th EuroSDR Board of Delegates 2019 Meeting at Cleopatra Hotel in Nicosia (13.11.2019)
On the 13th of November 2019, the Department of Lands and Surveys organized the 135th EuroSDR Board of Delegates 2019 Meeting which took place at Cleopatra Hotel in Nicosia.
During the meeting the EXCELSIOR Project and the main objectives and activities of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence were presented by the Coordinator of the EXCELSIOR Project, Prof. Diofantos Hadjimitsis who gave a presentation entitled “Overview of the Remote Sensing Applications in Cyprus and of the Excelsior H2020 Teaming Project: ERATOSTHENES: EXcellence Research Centre for Earth SurveiLlance and Space-Based MonItoring Of the EnviRonment”.
Furthermore, presentations were given by other members of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Prof. Phaedon Kyriakides, “Geomatics at the Cyprus University of Technology: An overview of Degree Programs and Related Activities”; Assist. Prof. Christodoulos Danezis, “CyClops: A strategic Research Unit for Continuous Monitoring of Geohazards and National Geodetic Infrastructure”; and Dr Kyriacos Themistocleous, “Digital unblocking of sacred islands: the ecclesiastical cultural heritage digitization pilots for churches in the area of Limassol, Cyprus”.
