ERATOSTHENES CoE Connects Research with Investment at NBG Business Seeds

The ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence participated in “NBG Business Seeds x CUT: From Research to Market: Funding & Commercialisation of Innovation”, held on 8 October 2026. The event brought together researchers, emerging deep tech ventures, the NBG Business Seeds team and investors to explore opportunities for funding and commercialising research.

Prof. Andreas Anayiotos, Technology Transfer Director, introduced the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence and presented a selection of its more mature technologies. These included the Earthquake Damage Assessment and Risk Technology, presented on behalf of Prof. Nicholas Kyriakides.

The session connected Cyprus’ emerging deep tech ventures with experienced investors and the wider entrepreneurial network, creating opportunities for collaboration and research commercialisation. Dr Konstantinos Kleovoulou, Director of Research and Innovation at the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus, also addressed the participants.

The Centre extends its appreciation to the Cyprus University of Technology, particularly Prof. Nicolas Tsapatsoulis, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and Dr Morfo Zembyla, Research and Innovation University Officer, as well as to NBG Business Seeds representatives Dr Spyros Arsenis and Anna Zongou, for hosting the event and welcoming the investors who travelled from Greece to participate.

ERATOSTHENES CoE congratulates all participating colleagues, professors and researchers on their work and looks forward to building on the connections established to advance research towards market applications.
