Virtual Invited talk: The role of Earth Observation data in the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service for atmospheric composition and air quality

On March 15th, 2022, the EXCELSIOR H2020 project, the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE) and the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of the Cyprus University of Technology organized a virtual invited talk by Dr Mark Parrington.

Title: “The role of Earth Observation data in the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service for atmospheric composition and air quality”

Mark Parrington is a Senior Scientist in the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) Development Section at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). He holds a DPhil in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Oxford and has more than 20 years experience of working on the application of Earth observation data, in situ measurements, numerical modelling and data assimilation to atmospheric chemistry and air quality research. Mark’s current role encompasses monitoring and science communication activities related to global wildfires, atmospheric composition and air pollution episodes, and more information can be found through his twitter feed at https://twitter.com/m_parrington.
